Alupor™ porous structure is formed by dissolving of salt from aluminium matrix
The mold is filled with crystal salt
Impregnation of salt with molten aluminium under vacuum or pressure
Cooling and obtaining of solid composite casting
Machining of composite casting to obtain the desired form
Washout of salt and drying of the finished product
Choosing the salt granules size we can produce the material with different pore size. All the pores are interconnected to each other and it provides a high permeability and efficiency of filtering of liquids and gases or noise reduction.
Composite casting process
The size of pores and ratio between maximum and minimum pore sizes define the mechanical and filtration properties of ALUPOR™
The replication casting technology allows us to use the most simple and affordable molds for casting.
Machining
Then we cut the slabs to blanks to be machined standard by lathe, milling, chasing, drilling etc.
Technology allows to obtain aluminium foam of any configuration, that combines solid metal and the porous part in a single item. Usually we use the solid metal part to accomplish the attachment fitting. We explore absolutly common ways of metal working to obtain the required form including CNC machining.
Even more complex parts combining porous and non-porous aluminium can be manufactured as an integral part.
We are ready to supply our standard products and to cooperate in development of new breakthrough solutions based on porous aluminum. ALUPOR™ technology allows to manufacture the large-scale lots (currently up to 20 000 pcs per month), as well as prototypes and single unique products.
